Anthony R. Peterson

CPL. Anthony R. “Tony” Peterson 28 of Oglesby. Died 9:10 pm January 10, 2013 in his home. Services will be 11:00 am Monday at Ptak Funeral Home. Abbot Philip Davey, OSB will officiate. Burial will be in St Vincent Cemetery. La Salle- Oglesby Veterans Memorial group will conduct full military honors. Visitation will be Monday from 10-11 am in the funeral home. He was born January 25, 1985 in Peru to Stanley and Marcella (Dutch) - Matson Peterson. Anthony was an army veteran serving 2 tours of duty in the Iraq War. Serving honorably Anthony received numerous medals for his service, among them Army Commendation Medal and the Iraq Campaign Medal with Champaign star. He achieved the rank Corporal. Anthony was currently enrolled at IVCC in Automotive Technology, where he also worked as a Lab Aid. Survivors include his Mother Marcella Matson of Colona, IL. His maternal Grandmother Diane Dutch of Peru. 1 sister Elizabeth (Richard) Cruise of Shabbona, IL. 2 brothers Joseph Peterson of La Salle and Stanley A. (Susan) Peterson, Jr. of Fishers, IN. and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Father Stanley Peterson in 2009. His brother Christopher Peterson in 2007.
