Barbara Ann Lowery-Benvenuti

October 20, 1955 — June 27, 2019

Barbara Ann Lowery-Benvenuti, 63, passed away at home the morning of June 27th, peacefully listening to the morning birds and her pond waterfall after a short battle with cancer. Memorial services will be 4:30 PM Sunday July 21, 2019 in the Ptak Funeral Home. Pastor Betty Delgado will officiate. Private burial will be in Henry Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be Sunday in the funeral home from 2:00 PM till time of the services. Barb was born 10/20/55 to Edward J and Frances (Meyer) Mathis of Henry Illinois in Peoria Illinois. Barb was preceded in death by her Mother, her late husband Randy Lowery, sons Chris Bogner and Andrew Lowery and is survived by her loving husband Dario Benvenuti of Greenfield Indiana, son Robert Bogner (Kelly) Bogner of Fountaintown Indiana, her father EJ Mathis of Henry, brothers Michael (Robin) Mathis and Allen (Carole) Mathis, two granddaughters Brooklyn Lowery of Lasalle Illinois and Bailey Lowery of Sebastion Florida, step granddaughters Jaidyn and Alexis, grandsons Christopher ( Kay) Bogner of Streator Illinois, Nicholas (Jade) Bogner, Ryan (Chloe) Bogner, Gabe and Sam Stoneking, in laws Bill and Cecelia Kruse, and her former husband Larry ( Sarah) Bogner She also leaves behind special friends Billy Jack Lee, Steve (Roberta) Defoe of Dalzell and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Her special friends include everyone at the Greenfield VFW who prayer for her, and her very good friends Ellen, Jenny, Lori, Connie, Shorty, Donna, Calinda, Katrine, Mike and Eric and her neighbor and partner in crime, Ann (Sissy) Fox. She was big hearted. Forgiving, and a friend of man or animal seeking care and comfort. Barb’s delights were caring for her yard, her fish pond, faithful dogs, Toby and Teddy, and cat Xander (Bubs), She spent winters in Florida camping and summers boating in Michigan, she liked playing tip boards and lottery tickets, and held dear the loves of her life, granddaughters Brooklyn and Baily. She was a club manager for years in Illinois, enjoyed motorcycles, mushroom hunting, owned and operated her own home cleaning business in California, and liked working on her flowers and her pond. She worked as a manager at The Oak Store in Aurora Illinois and spent several years as a consultant for closing furniture stores travelling throughout the country. She has been retired the last 10 years. Barb supported veterans and was vice president of the VFW auxiliary, and also the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary in Greenfield Indiana.
