Clara B. (Turczyn) Wachowiak 95 of Peru. Passed away on March 31, 2021, in her home, where she was born and raised.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Saturday, April 10, 2021, at St Valentine Church. The Rev Gary Blake will officiate. Burial will be at St Valentine Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-7 PM Friday, April 9, 2021, at Ptak Funeral Home and there will also be a visitation will be Saturday morning in the church from 9:00-10:00 AM.
Clara was born May 6, 1925, in Peru to Ignatius and Sophie (Ryba) Turczyn. She married Al Wachowiak on October 4, 1942, in St Valentine Church. Clara worked at Westclox for 25 years. Clara was a lifelong member of St Valentine Church, the former Mother’s Club, the Parish Family Circle Club of St Valentine, and the La Salle CWV. Clara was an avid Bowler in the area for many years.
Above all Clara loved her family. She was the rock and the glue that kept the family together.
Clara is survived by her daughter Donna Wahlstrom of La Salle, her grandchildren Michelle (Randy) Freschi, Jaci (Shaya) Mokfi, Dennis (Julie) Huhn, Laura Huhn, David Huhn and Lisa (Joe) Adam, her Great-grandchildren Zach (Dinelle) Freschi, Brea (Dan)Freschi- Lijewski, Zander Mokfi, Spencer Mokfi, Adeline Mokfi, Lewis Mokfi, Jordan Huhn, Cassie (Jeremy) Huhn, Daniel Adam, and Dylan Adam. Great-Great Grandchildren Brycen Miller, CC Miller, Tae Freschi, Lennix Freschi, and Jaxen Freschi, and Her son-in-law Larry “Bud” Huhn of Peru.
Clara was preceded in death by her Husband in 1992, her daughter Dianne Huhn 2018, her son in law Chuck Wahlstrom, her sisters Betty Godawa, Marie Pyszka, Josephine Kurtz, Therese Sienkiewicz, and Sister M. Clarine, and her brothers Julius, Bill, Felix, and Joe Turczyn.
