Donald F. Croissant

Donald F. Croissant 92 of Ladd. Passed away July 18, 2023, in OSF St Anthony Hospital in Rockford, surrounded by his loving family.

Services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday July 25, 2023, in Ptak Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Peru City Cemetery. The Peru Veterans Memorial Group will conduct graveside Honors.

Visitation will be 4-7 PM Monday July 24, 2023, in the Funeral home and Tuesday morning from 9:00-9:45 AM in the funeral Home.

Donald was born December 11. 1930 in Peru to Walter and Harriet (Klein) Croissant. He Married Dolores Sharp June 27, 1953, in First Congregational Church Spring Valley. Donald served in the Air Force from 1949-1952. He owned and operated the Peru Auto Salvage up till his retirement.

Donald was a generous and kind person and a great storyteller. He loved surprising family and friends with a delivery of donuts. He loved feeding the birds, especially the Robins, he loved early morning coffees on the deck with wife. Donald enjoyed his daily lunches at the Igloo. He enjoyed gardening and his many family Fishing trips to Lake of the Woods, Minnesota.

Donald is survived by his wife of over 70 years Dolores. His children Toni Fieser of Spring Valley, Lori Vasquez of Spring Valley, Karen (Fletcher) Wells of Ottawa, Jeri (Paul) Etscheid of La Salle, Kelli (Steve) Pfeffer of Woodstock, Jennifer Croissant of Ladd, Randy (Carolyn) Croissant of Elgin and Dan (Kim) Croissant of Spring Valley. 25 Grandchildren and 38 Great Grandchildren and 6 Great- Great Grandchildren. 2 sisters Mimi Shawback and Florence Zolli

Donald was preceded in death by his son Ricke and a daughter Lisa in infancy. 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

In Lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Cops for Cancer or the Wounded Warrior Project.
