Donald S. Haun 77 of Spring Valley. Passed away unexpectedly February 27, 2023, in Foley, Alabama.

Memorial visitation will be 4-7 PM Wednesday March 8, 2023, in the Ptak Funeral Home. There will be a 7:00 PM Prayer service, Fr Gregory Jarzombek OSB will officiate. The Peru Veterans Memorial Group will conduct a flag folding Ceremony.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Ptak Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Donald was born December 21, 1945, in Spring Valley, IL to Joseph and Gladys (Morris) Haun. He married Mary Ann Slusarek May 21, 1966, in St Valentine Church Peru. Donald served in the Army from 1966-1969, serving in Vietnam for 1 year.

Donald worked as an Auto Mechanic for Spring Valley Ford up till his retirement. He loved camping at Hickory Grove Campground in Sheffield, IL., traveling with his camper to Texas, Florida, and Alabama. He loved his dogs Sammy and Jade and working with his tractor in the yard and at the campground.

Donald is survived by his wife Mary Ann of Spring Valley, His son Richard (Karen) Haun of Spring Valley, his daughter Korey (Kurt) Serrine of Hennepin, IL. His grandchildren Corbin, Ashlyn, and Ayden. 3 sisters Kathryn (Norton) Fishman of Charlottesville, VA., Shirley (Dave) Davis of Magnolia and Dottie Sue Haun of Peru and 1 brother Lloyd Haun of Seatonville.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association or La Salle Veteran's Home.
