Edward J. “Kuba” Olszewski 91 of La Salle.Died May 15, 2016 in Manor Court of Peru. Funeral Services will be Thursday 11:00 AM in the Ptak Funeral Home. Monsignor J. Brian Rejsek will officiate. Burial will be in Peru City Cemetery. The La Salle – Oglesby Veterans Memorial Group will conduct a flag folding Service. Visitation will be Thursday morning in the funeral home from 9:00 AM till time of services. Edward was born March 15, 1925 in La Salle to Edward J. and Emily (Kreyaczki) Olszewski Sr. He served in the Army during WWII in the Pacific Theatre of Operations. He married Shirley Truskoski July 3, 1948 in La Salle. Edward worked at Westclox as a Tool setter for over 32 years. He was a former member of the La Salle VFW. Edward is survived by his wife Shirley of La Salle. 1 daughter Sharon Hicks of La Salle, 2 sons Gary Olszewski of Naperville and Jim (Paula) Olszewski of Peru. 8 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren and 1 brother Gilbert Olszewski of Granville. He was preceded in death by 1 sister.
