Edward F. Wieczorek 78 of Peru. Died 2:40 AM April 3, 2016 in Manor Court Peru.
Memorial Mass will be 11:00 AM Saturday April 9, 2016 in St Mary’s Church Peru. Monsignor J. Brian Rejsek will officiate. Burial will be at St Hyacinth Cemetery in La Salle. Peru Veterans Memorial Group will conduct Graveside Military honors. Cremation rites have been accorded.
Memorial Visitation will be Saturday in the Church from 9-11 AM. Ptak funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Edward was born August 27, 1937 in La Salle to Frank and Gertrude (Ossowski) Wieczorek. He married Mary Catherine Pabian April 25, 1959 in St Patrick Church in La Salle. He served in the Air Force overseas in France as Instrument Mechanic. Edward worked as a bookkeeper for American Nickeloid and then worked sales in the advertising department for the News Tribune. He then retired as Rural Carrier for the Post Office.
Edward was a passionate member of St Mary’s Church where his deep faith led him to be very active in the Holy Name Society and Parish Council Holy Name. He was a member of the Eagle’s Club of Peru and would enjoy having a beer occasionally with his good buddies. Throughout his life, He was an avid Chicago Bears and White Sox fan.
Ed more than anything enjoyed and was dedicated to his family, Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren where road trips were always back roads. He loved fishing, the outdoors, Gardening or just tinkering in his garage. His spirited approach to life, led him to often make the comment. “We don’t have much, but we have fun” with a big grin. Edward is survived by his wife of Peru 2 daughters Sandy (Ken) Brown of Cherry, Mary Beth Palomares of Bellflower, CA. 3 Sons Tim (Karen) Wieczorek of Sanford, FL., Gary Wieczorek of Wenatchee, WA. and Kevin (Liliana) Wieczorek of Wenatchee, WA. His Grandchildren Kenny and Nick Brown, Amanda( Brown) Thompson, Kristy (Wieczorek) Koenig, Matthew Wieczorek, Jeremy Palomares, Kevin, Andrew and Charlie Wieczorek and his Great Grandchildren Mariko,Calvin,Victoria(Little Peanut), Natalie, Abigail and Amelia.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 sister Dorothy Lenski.
