Janice J. Booker

Janice J. Booker 84 of Peru passed away peacefully Friday, February 26 in her home surrounded by her loved ones. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM Tuesday, March 2, 2021, at St Valentine Church. The Rev Gary Blake will officiate. A private burial will follow. There will be no visitation. Ptak Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements. Janice was born July 18, 1936, in Peru to Stanley and Helen (Rydlewski) Skowronski. She married Bob Booker on August 27, 1955, at St Valentine Church. She was a graduate of La Salle-Peru High School. She worked in several businesses with her husband around the area over the last 50 years. She enjoyed cooking, flowers, and gardening but most of all, she cherished the time spent with her husband, whom she adored and her family. Janice will be fondly remembered as a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother that will be dearly missed by all that knew her. Janice is survived by her husband of 65 years Bob Booker, Her loving children Keith (Mary Ann) Booker of La Salle, Jeffrey (Jan) Booker of Spring Valley, and Bob (Lori) Booker of Algonquin, IL. Her grandchildren Tonya Booker, Nicki (Kale) Johnston, Lindsey Booker, Nicole (Matt) Meyer, Tim (Brenda) Booker, Penny Booker, Jeffrey Booker, Robert Booker, Brittney (Donald) Sweeney, Tyler Booker, and Connor Booker, nine great-grandchildren, and her sisters Sharon Greene of Ottawa and Sandy Davis of Peru. Janice was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Stanley Skowronski, and her grandson Brandon Booker.
