Joan K. Klabel 77 of Peru. Died 11:04 am May 25 in her home. Memorial services will be Thursday 7:00 pm in the Ptak funeral Home in Peru. Pastor Oscar Shepherd will officiate. Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial visitation will be Thursday from 5-7 pm in the funeral home. She was born November 19, 1935 in La Salle to James and Gladys (Ludwig) Monahan. She married Jerry Virgo April 26, 1953 and later married Philip Klabel July 27, 1984. She worked as a manger of the fashions Department of Montgomery- Wards store in Peru. She then worked for Food Bonanza which later became Econo Foods in Peru up till her retirement. She is survived by 3 daughters Sandra-Jerri (Rick) Dillon of Tulsa, OK. Cindy Washkowiak of La Salle and June (Paul Bengtsen) Virgo of Peru. 2 sons Gerald J. (Marge Brandner) Virgo of Peru and Russell E. (Lisa) Virgo of Spring Valley. 4 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren. 1 sister Patricia P. Klabel of Peru. She was preceded in death by parents her husband in 2006 1 Brother and 1 sister.
