John J. Klimek, age 81, of Peru, passed away November 7th, 2018, in Indianapolis, IN surrounded by his family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Saturday, November 17, 2018, at St Valentine Church. Monsignor Richard Soseman will officiate. Burial will be private.
Visitation will be Friday night from 5-7 PM in the Ptak Funeral Home. Ptak Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
John was born March 17, 1937, in LaSalle to John and Mary (Pelczynski) Klimek. He graduated from St. Bede Academy and Northern Illinois University. He worked as a Sr. Engineer for A.O.Smith Corporation, Milwaukee, WI for 30 years and retired in 2000.
John (Papa) was a hard worker, very organized and quite a planner but also had quite a dry, sarcastic sense of humor, loving to poke fun at others including himself. The family was the top priority for him and he loved spending time with them playing cards, games and watching sports. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his daughter Cynthia (Mark) Baker of Indianapolis; His son Patrick Klimek of LaSalle; and two granddaughters Brinley Baker and Bridget Baldwin (Adam) of Indianapolis; one brother James Klimek (Judy) of Cherry Valley, IL.
John is preceded in death by his mother and father, sister Rosemary Reiner and brother Richard Klimek.
Memorials may be directed to St. Bede Academy or the donor’s choice.
