Josephine M. “Tootsie” Duncan 92 of Peru. Died August 17, 2015 in her home. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday 11:00 AM in St Mary’s Church Peru. Monsignor J. Brian Rejsek will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded after the services. Burial will be Private at a later date. Visitation will be Saturday in the church from 10:00 AM till 11:00 AM. Ptak Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements. Josephine was born November 29, 1922 in Peru to Frank and Josephine (Scherbitz) Steinz. She married John J. “Dud” Duncan October 14, 1941 in St Mary’s Church Peru. She graduated from St Mary’s Grade School, and St Joseph’s Commercial School in Peru. She was a member of St Mary’s Church, the former St Mary’s Alter and Rosary Society, the former St Bede Mothers Club and played on the Ptak’s Aces Women’s Softball team. Tootsie is survived by 3 daughters Jo Marie Duncan of La Salle, Kathleen (Bill) Krapf of Peru and Karen (Gary) Zemann of Webster Park, Spring Valley. 1 Son John J. (Patricia) Duncan Jr. of La Salle. 7 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren. 1 sister in law Lucile Brandt- Considine of Peru. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1998, 1 son in infancy, 2 brothers and 1 sister. Memorial may be directed to St Margaret’s Hospice, St Mary’s Church or St Bede Academy.
