Ken W. Smoron

Ken W. Smoron 69 of La Salle. Died 4:29 PM January 4, 2018, in his home, following an extended illness. Prayer service will be at 7:00 PM Saturday, January 13, 2018, in Ptak Funeral Home. Private burial will be at a later date. Cremation rites will follow the services. A celebration of his life gathering will be in the summer. Visitation will be Saturday, January 13 from 4-7 PM in the funeral home. Ken was born February 5, 1948, in Peru to Walter and Rose (Shurman) Smoron. He married Margaret C. Faletti December 29,1970, at St Valentine Church. Ken worked as an Oxidizing processor for Carus Chemical for over 35 years. He was a member of St Valentine Church. Ken played Men’s softball for over 50 Years. Playing in the La Salle and Oglesby Leagues. With teams like Don’s Glass Shop, Ki Johns and Hagar’s He retired in 2015. Ken is survived by wife Marge of La Salle. 1 daughter Carrie (Shawn) Meagher of Ladd. 2 sons Ken S. Smoron of Minneapolis, MN and Chris (Andrea Velazquez) Smoron of Streator.3 Grandchildren Gage Meagher and Xavier Smoron and Gabe Molina. Ken is also survived by his brother Mike Smoron of Peru. Ken was preceded in death by his parents.

My husband & I remember Ken well. From Carus, the Palace Bowling alley, & of course softball. He always had a ready smile & story to tell. I'm sure he's telling jokes & spinning yarns right now. So very sorry for your loss, Marcia & Vince Walters

Marge, I'm so very sorry for your loss. Ken was such a nice man and always treated my Kari like his own daughter. Ken will always be watching over you till you meet him again in heaven Sending prayers and love to you and the children. :heart::pray::latin_cross:
