Marco J. Verucchi

Marco Joseph Verucchi passed away on May 6, 2022. He was born May 26th, 1982, in Peru, IL to Dawn (Marini) and Richard Verucchi of Peru.

Some may say Marco’s life was like a storm. At its worst, it could be full of blinding fury, rage, and destruction. But at its best, it was full of striking beauty, wonder, passion, and authenticity.  He often navigated choppy waters, longing for peace and calm. Many close family and friends knew and loved his true self, his calm. His children and grandchildren were the joy and anchor in his stormy sea. Those who took the time to truly know him, found a kindhearted, genuine person, with a million-dollar smile that would light up a room, nothing at all like the media portrayed him. He will forever be in our hearts and prayers.

 Marco is survived by his parents, a brother Carlo (Natalie) Verucchi, his loving grandmother Bea Verucchi, special friend Michelle Becker, their son Mariano Verucchi, Sharon Green, their son Gianni Verucchi, a stepdaughter Angeleah, and granddaughters Amareli, Illáh and T’ua; His many aunts, uncles, cousins, and a nephew (Luca) and niece (Cici).

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, a paternal grandfather, and an uncle.

Funeral Service will be 7:00 PM Friday, May 13, 2022. Pastor Steve Adamson will officiate Visitation will be Friday 4:00- 7:00 PM in the Ptak Funeral Home. Private Burial will be at a later date.  Ptak Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

  Memorials may be made to the Perfectly Flawed Foundation, an organization that was very important in Marco’s life. He found much friendship, support, and purpose from his friends while he was employed there.
