Margaret C. “Mag” Morel 93 of La Salle.Died 6:15 pm March 24, 2014 in La Salle Heritage Health care Center. Cremation rites will be accorded. Memorial Services will be at a later date. Ptak Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements. Margaret was born March 28, 1920 in La Salle to Gus and Lilly (Kramer) Pelkey. She married La Verne “Buck” Morel January 17,1942 in Canton, Ohio. She worked at Westclox during World War II. She owned and operated Maggie’s Miniatures on 8th street in La Salle for many years. She is survived by her husband La Verne “Buck” of La Salle. 3 daughters Jan Armstrong of La Salle, Jill (Keith) Vasquez of La Salle and Jo E. Morel of Santa Cruz, CA., 2 Sons James (Sherry) Morel of Mt. Carroll, IL and Jay of La Salle. 8 grandchildren Tom Morel, Kaleen Barbera and Marques Morel, Nikki Merrick, Nathan and Luke Armstrong, Michelle Morel and Jo E. Vasquez. 12 Great Grandchildren. Several Nieces and Nephews and her niece Goddaughter Mary Margaret Ziel. She was preceded in death by 1 sister Winnie Ziel and 2 brothers William and Henry Pelkey
