Margaret L. “Peggy” Sweetland 80 of Peru. Died June 17, 2019 in her home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Monday June 24, 2019 in St Valentine Church. Rev Jeffrey A. Small will officiate. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Arlington, IL. Visitation will be Monday in the church from 10:00 AM till time of services. Ptak Funeral Home has been entrusted the arrangements. Peggy was born December 6,1938 in Spring Valley, IL to Matthew and Agnes (Cassidy) Lucas. She worked at Westclox, Electrical Utilities Co. La Salle and then retired from the News Tribune. She was a member of St Valentine Church. Peggy is survived by her daughters Lee Ann (Gene) Davis of Naples, FL., Terry (Bill) Terry of Peru and Sheila Hopkins of Redondo Beach, CA. Her grandchildren Billy (Michelle) Terry, Chantel Terry, Rachael (Cameron) McDonough, Zachery Terry, Nolan (Amanda) Hopkins, Tara Condie, Dylon Terry and Sydney Hopkins. Her Great Grandchildren Lucas, Jaxon, Harper, Claire, Ellary and Harley. Peggy is also survived by her sister Patrice Lucas of La Salle and her brother Robert (Delores) Lucas of Spring Valley. Peggy was preceded in death by 6 sisters Dolores Galletti, Margery Zawacki, Mary Thompson, Madonna Mae Lucas, Madonna Mini and Beverly Derix. Her 2 brothers James and Matthew Lucas.
