Marjorie Faye Mills Kreske (1933-2025)
Marjorie Faye Kreske (Mills), 91, of Greendale, Wisconsin, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away on January eighth, 2025, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Born and raised on a farm in Oglesby, Illinois to Bertha and Golden Mills, Marge was one of twelve siblings. Growing up with five sisters and six brothers, (including her surviving brothers, Jack Mills, Burdette (Carol) Mills and Larry (Jackie) Mills during the depression, her childhood was not easy. The family worked together to support the farm and each other. Through hard work, sacrifice and dedication, the family endured and persevered. Once they got through the toughest times, their reunions were filled with joy and laughter as they were able to realize how their family had not only survived but thrived.
Marge was married to Dale Kreske (born in 1932, died in 2017) for 24 years and they lived in the charming town of Greendale, Wisconsin while they were together. They raised identical twin sons, Paul and Jay.
Marge’s pride and joy were her sons, whom she raised with unwavering love and dedication. She instilled in them the values of hard work, resilience and the importance of family; lessons she learned during her formative years on the farm. As her family grew, Marge found immense happiness in her six grandchildren, who brought light and laughter into her life.
An avid golfer, Marge enjoyed 30 years of camaraderie with her ladies’ group at Whitnall Park in Greendale, Wisconsin. She was also a passionate tennis player, showcasing her competitive spirit and love for the game at the Greendale Village Club.
Marge was known for her beauty, elegance and grace, always dressed to the nines, embodying a classy demeanor that inspired those around her. Above all, she cherished her family, leaving behind a legacy of love and warmth.
Marge was preceded in death by her parents (Golden, Bertha), her siblings, (Betty, Wendall, Edsall, Bob, Dorothy, Eleanor, Phyllis, Marilyn). She is survived by her sons, Paul (Gretchen) Kreske and Jay (Jennifer) Kreske and six precious grandchildren: Isabella, Marco, Cristian, Logan, Hunter, Skylar.
Marge will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her, and her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, reminding us of the joy she brought to our lives.
Please join us in celebrating her life Saturday morning January 18, 2025, at Ptak Funeral Home, 1026 4th Street, Peru, IL, 61354. Visitation 10:30 am – 12:30 pm. Service at 12:30 pm. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, La Salle. Family and close friends are invited to a luncheon at 2:00pm.
