Marlene Urban Marlene Urban, 81, of Peru passed away March 24, 2013, in the Heritage Manor nursing home at 6:25 pm where she was under Hospice Care. Funeral Mass will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in St. Mary’s Church, Peru. Fr William Gardner and Fr Tom Badovsky will con-celebrate. Burial will be in St. Valentine Cemetery in Spring Valley. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday in Ptak Funeral Home with a rosary at 4:30 p.m. Visitation will also be from 1:00 p.m. Wednesday until time of service in the Church. Marlene was born January 15, 1932, in LaSalle to Stanley and Stella (Kapinski) Urban. Miss Urban was a member of St. Valentine’s Church and also the St. Valentine’s Parish Family Circle Club. She graduated from St. Mary’s Hospital school of nursing as a RN in 1952. She worked at St. Mary’s Hospital in LaSalle. She was also a nurse for Dr. AJ Sellett and Dr. LV Sellett for many years. She finished her nursing career at St. Margaret’s Hospital in the skilled care unit. She was survived by several cousins and two special cousins Roger Urban of Peru and Carol Gugerty of Princeton. Memorials can be directed to the St. Valentine’s Church.
