Mary Ellen "Punky" Lungwitz

Mary Ellen (Punky) Lungwitz, 64 of Peru passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on December 3, 2014. Private Graveside services will be at Peru City Cemetery at a later date. Ptak Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements. Punky was born August 10, 1950 in Peru IL to Joseph and Shirley Buczkowski. She married Bruce Robert Lungwitz July 1978 at St John’s Lutheran Church in Peru. She loved working and was a strong and determined woman. She graduated from LP High School. She worked at G &O, Westclox, The Peru Cookie Factory and JC Whitney. Punky loved cooking, hosting holidays, traveling with her family, remodeling, crafting and spending time with her family. Survivors include her three daughters; Jacqueline (James Wawrzyniak) Lungwitz of Peru, Christina Lungwitz of Denver, CO and Tami (Jared Brown) Lungwitz of Chicago. Three grandchildren; Kyle Joseph Lungwitz, Lily Mina Wawrzyniak and Keira Grace Wawrzyniak. Two sisters; Doris Zeman of Bloomington, Vicki (Steven) Pytel of LaSalle, and four brothers; Tom Buczkowski, David Buczkowski, and James (Holly) Buczkowski of Peru, and Daniel (Alice) Buczkowski of LaSalle. She was preceded in death by her husband Bruce Robert Lungwitz (January 8, 2014) and her parents.
