Mary 'Bebe' Ziel Schorn Born: July 10, 1942Died: February 5, 2025 Mary "Bebe" Ziel Schorn of Lecanto, FL, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2025. A devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Bebe was known for her kindness, resilience, and unwavering love for family. Her warmth and laughter brought joy to those around her. She leaves a legacy that will live on in the hearts of those she touched.Born on July 10, 1942 to Walter James and Mary (Pelkey) Ziel, in LaSalle, IL, Bebe lived a life of love. Though she faced challenges due to going blind as a young woman, she never let it dim her spirit. She found immense joy in spending time with family, cherishing every moment. She also had a deep love for animals and was always happiest in the company of beloved pets and support dogs.Bebe had a vibrant personality and enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved fishing, crafts, swimming, and boating. She never passed up an opportunity to go gambling with friends or family.Bebe is survived by her son, Tim (Kristi) Schorn of Maple Valley, Washington and daughter, Tracey (Erik) Christoffel of San Clemente, California; grandchildren, Nicole (Reese) Reed, Christopher (Jamie) Reddish, Payton and Zackary Schorn, and Haidyn Christoffel; great-grandchildren, Bryce, Bianca, Reese Jr., and Owen Reed, Corbin and Lucy Reddish. She is also survived by brothers, Walter (Judy) Ziel Jr. of Manitowoc, WI and Tom (Leslie) Ziel of rural Marseilles and many nieces and nephews.Bebe was preceded in death by her daughter, Tamie Elzinga and her grandson, Jeffrey Elzinga.Donations in Bebe's memory may be made to the National Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled (NLS) or to the family.A family memorial will be held in Florida in the near future. A graveside celebration of life will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery in Spring Valley, IL on April 26 at 11:30.
