Michael J. Gapinski

Michael J. Gapinski 52 of Streamwood. Formerly of Peru passed away May 24, 2024, in his home following a courageous battle with cancer.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:30 AM Saturday June 1, 2024, in St Valentine Church Peru. Burial will be in St Valentine Cemetery. 

Visitation will be Saturday June 1 from 9:00-11:00 AM in the Ptak Funeral Home. Ptak Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Michael was born May 20,1972 in Peru to Anthony and Geraldine (Wozniak) Gapinski. Mike was a 1990 graduate of La Salle –Peru Township high School. He graduated from Illinois State University with a bachelor's Degree. He worked at Mechanics Bank for eight years and over 30 years in the Automotive Finance Industry.

Mike was a lifelong Chicago sports fan. Especially the Cubs. Mike liked nothing more than spending time with his friends.

Mike is survived by his parents Tony and Gerry Gapinski of Peru. His brother Thomas (Jessica) Gapinski of Streamwood, IL and his girlfriend Tammy Snead of Villa Park, IL

Mike was preceded in death by his Grandparents and his niece Abigail.

Pallbearers will be Ken Welgatt, David Saxe, Neal Thompson, Jeff Krzyaniak, Jason Sydlowski and John Baima
