Mildred D. "Millie" Koscielski

Mildred “Millie” Noramczyk Koscielski, 96, formerly of Peru, passed away at 5:20 PM on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Hallmark Healthcare of Pekin.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Wednesday January 12, 2022, in St Valentine Church. Burial will be at Peru City Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday morning in the church from 10:00-11:00 AM.Ptak Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Millie was born July 26, 1925 in Peru to Stanley and Martha (Romanowski) Noramczyk. Before she married, she was employed at Westclox in Peru. She married Walter Koscielski on February 12, 1949. Their only child, daughter Roberta, survives. After Walter passed away in 1976, Millie worked as a Pharmacy Technician at Illinois Valley Community Hospital in Peru.

Millie loved to keep busy with crafts including decorative painting, knitting, crocheting, and sewing, watching Cubs baseball, cheering for Nascar drivers named Earnhardt, gardening, reading, doing jigsaw puzzles, travelling on bus trips, visiting with her family, neighbors, and friends, and playing with her 8 grandkitties.

Millie is survived by her daughter Roberta (Chandler Kirby) Koscielski, her nephews Michael (Melanie) Noramczyk and Daniel (Jennifer) Noramczyk, great nephews Brady and Connor Noramczyk and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father Stanley Noramczyk (1980), mother Martha Noramczyk (1950), stepmother Helen Noramczyk (2007), brother Stanley Noramczyk Jr (1945), sister Ruth Noramczyk (2016), and brother Robert Noramczyk (2017).

The family expresses their deep gratitude to the caring staff at Heddington Oaks and Hallmark Healthcare for their dedicated care of Millie.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Peoria Humane Society, Friends of Peoria Public Library, or the Alzheimer’s Association.
