Ralph Butch Rimmele

Ralph R. “Butch” Rimmele 89 of La Salle Veterans Home, formerly of Peru. Died 3:05 pm November 13, 2013 at St Margaret’s Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday 11:00 am at St Valentine Church. The Rev William Gardner will officiate. Peru Veterans Memorial Group will perform military rites. Cremation rites will take place after the services. Burial will be at a later date in St Vincent Cemetery. Visitation will be in the church Saturday from 9:00 am till time of services. Ptak Funeral home is assisting the family with arrangements. He was born September 26, 1924 in La Salle to George and Josephine (Majikowski) Rimmele. He married Marie Nemeth June 28, 1947 at St Constantine Church in Oglesby. He was a Navy veteran of WWII, serving in both Asiatic-Pacific Theatre. He was an Aviation Metalsmith. He worked at Sundstrand in Shipping and receiving department up till his retirement. He was a member of St Valentine Church, Peru VFW #8232. Survivors include his wife Marie of Peru. 1 Son Guy (Brenda) Rimmele of Ottawa. 4 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren and 1 Sister Vera Mathey of Peru. He was preceded in death by 1 sister and 3 brothers. Memorials may be directed to the Veterans Home La Salle
