Richard J. “Dick” Wozniak 82 of Peru. Died 8:54 AM June 28, 2014 at St Francis Medical Center Peoria. Services will be 9:30 am Wednesday in the Ptak Funeral Home with a 10:00 am Mass of Christian burial at St Valentine Church. Msrg. Brian Rejsek and Abbot Philip Davey OSB will con Celebrate. Burial will be at Peru City Cemetery. The Peru Veterans Memorial Group will perform graveside Military services. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-8 pm in the funeral home with a 7:30 scripture service and additional visitation from 9:00 to 9:30 am Wednesday in the funeral home. Richard was born September 22, 1931 in La Salle to John and Pearl (Dziarnowski) Wozniak. He married Eleanor Bach March 29, 1952 in St Anthony’s church Spring Valley. He served in Navy during the Korean War. He worked at Westclox and then along with his brother Bob owned and operated Bob and Dick’s Gas Station in Peru. Then they went on to own and operate R&R Sanitation in Peru, for many years, up till his retirement. He was a member of St Valentine Church the Peru American Legion and the Elks Club. Survivors include his wife Eleanor of Peru. 5 daughters Patricia (Donald) Forqurean of Peru, Lisa Zurliene of Shorewood, Barb (John) Hochstatter of Mendota, Sharon Wozniak of Peru and Amy Wozniak of Chicago. 4 sons Steve (Diane) Wozniak of Ladd, Mark (Mary Kay) Wozniak of Peru, Andy Wozniak of Peru and Todd (Cassie) Wozniak of Fenton, MO. 16 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren and 1 niece Jodie Thompson of Spring Valley. He was preceded in death by his son Dale in 1988 and his brother Robert in 2006.
