Sheila D. Neece, 67, of Marseilles passed away Aug. 17, 2016, in Silver Cross Hospital, New Lenox.
There will be no services, as Sheila’s wish to be donated to Science Care was granted. There will be a private memorial service at a later date.
Sheila was born Aug. 26, 1948, in Silver Cross Hospital, Joliet, to Francis H. and Beryl J. Neece. She grew up in the La Salle area, was a member of La Salle-Peru Township High School class of 1966 and attended St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. She was married to Ronald “Spike” Dettore, with whom she had two children, Douglas and Andrea.
Sheila was the owner of Sheila’s Main Street Inn and Copper Penny Pub in Marseilles. She enjoyed being outside and gardening. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her mother, Beryl J. Spurlock of Cape Coral, Fla.; two children, Douglas (Maria) Dettore of Chicago and Andrea Dettore of Gretna, La.; three grandchildren; two sisters, Donna Sonnon of Gainesville, Ga., and Pam Hurley (George Dowell) of Peru; her sister-in-law, Jill Neece of Colonial Heights, Va.; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins, both in America and Australia.
She was preceded in death by her father and three brothers, William, Robert, and Stephen.
