Shirley M. Olszewski

Shirley M. Olszewski 90 of Peru. Passed away February 11, 2020, at IVCH Peru. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Monday, February 17 at St Valentine Church. The Rev J A Small will officiate. Burial will be at Peru City Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday 4-7 PM in the Ptak Funeral Home with a 4:00 Prayer service. There will be an additional visitation Monday morning in the Church from 9:30 AM till the time of services. Shirley was born December 8, 1929, in Spring Valley to Chester and Bernice (Smoron) Truskoski. She married Edward J. “Kuba” Olszewski July 3, 1948, in La Salle. Shirley worked at Westclox and then worked as a waitress at the Kaskaskia Hotel in La Salle and the Holiday Inn in Peru. She was a member of St Valentine Church. Shirley is survived by her daughter Sharon Hicks of La Salle and 2 sons Gary Olszewski of Durango, CO. and Jim (Paula) Olszewski of Peru. 8 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband in 2016 and 2 brothers William and Richard Truskoski.
