William G. "Sonny" Sledgister

William G. “Sonny” Sledgister 77 of Peru. Died 5:24 AM July 29, 2017, in his home. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Thursday in Ptak Funeral Home with Rev Jacob Valle officiating. Burial will be in Peru City Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday 5-7 PM in the funeral home with an additional visitation Thursday morning from 9:30 till the time of services. Sonny was born October 7, 1939, in La Salle to George and Gladys (Wagner) Sledgister. He married Mary Gullo April 19, 1959, in Holy Family Church in Oglesby. Sonny worked at EUC in La Salle until closing and then he became owner and operator of Ronken Industries in Spring Valley until his retirement. Sonny is survived by 1 daughter Lisa (Charles) Jeffrey of Peru and 1 son Steve Sledgister of Freeport, IL. 1 Grandchild Cory (Jessica) Jeffrey of Peru and 4 Great Grandchildren. 1sister Martha (Floyd) Bernard of Carbondale, IL and his caretaker and special friend Anna Makarewicz of Peru. Sonny was preceded in death by his wife 2009, 3 sisters and 1 Brother.
